Earlier today Minister Lawrence Wong spoke on-air that construction works would start but with conditions.
This is his speech
“Construction work can resume safely in this new COVID-19 environment so we are going to introduce new measures that cover the end-to-end precautions from accommodations to the transportation of workers and down to the worksites.”
“The one key change, for example, is that we would require for any projects the workers involved in that project and usually take it they will come from multiple contractors living in separate multiple dorms, but as part of the new requirement we will now require them to be housed together if you are working on one project then you are housed together and you can be housed in a block to build in an existing dormitory or they could be housed on-site in temporary quarters which the contractor may wish to set up a place “
“Even if a transmission what will happen in the worksite it will not go back to multiple dormitories, it will be contained we are also going to ensure that there is minimal mixing of workers communal activities”
