CORONAVIRUS MAY SURVIVE LONGER IN AIRCON, ACCORDING TO NCID

According to a media release, more information on how to fight the Coronavirus outbreak has been released by the media.

National Centre for Infectious Disease(NCID) had a media conference on the 10 Feb 2020, Associate Professor David Lye a director from NCID said that coronavirus survives for a shorter time when it is in a hot and humid environment.

Air from air conditioners does the exact opposite by make the air cold and dry.

David Lye also mentioned that the coronavirus is likely to survive from around 1 hour to 3 hours in a hot and humid environment.

He said

“Perhaps now is the time to turn off your aircon and just enjoy the breeze and the sun” “In an open space, you really won’t catch it from a passing person.”
