COUPLE WHO SLEEP IN THE STREETS, GOES DOOR TO DOOR IN HDB BLOCKS SELLING ITEMS

Facebook user Prabu Ramachandran shared how a couple who claim to be sleeping in the streets because they can’t apply for lodging in HDB, knocked on his friend’s door at Yew Tee trying to sell them household items.

He said that the woman was married thrice and has previously had HDB flats, where she BTOed twice and got a resale flat once.

He added that this is the man’s first marriage and he hasn’t applied for any HDB public housing before.

Prabu said that the couple doesn’t have an NRIC or passport with them, with the woman claiming that she lost hers three times and replaced it twice; the third time she went to replace it, she got allegedly rejected for repeatedly losing it.

The man on the other hand, lost his NRIC twice and replaced it once, but has no money to replace it the second time.

Both of them claimed to be earning about $40 per day as a cleaner washing dishes at a market place in Ang Mo Kio.

This couple, knocked on my friend’s door in the Yew Tee area and appeared to be trying to sell items they are holding in their hands, door to door

They claim to be “street sleeper” & that they cannot apply for lodging in hdb.

They are married, Woman married 3 times & as such has previously had HDB flats (2 times bto, 1 time resale from market) and rented 2 times from hdb direct.

This is the man’s 1st marriage.
He has not apply for any HDB public housing before.

This is the part where their struggles and troubles get worse, both no NRIC or passport with them.

Woman claimed to lost 3 times, replace twice.
She also claimed that “3rd replacement rejected because keep losing nric”

Man, nric lost twice. Replaced once. Currently money to replace 2nd time.

I tried to ask for more information & they don’t seem to have handphone number or Paynow.

Both claim to work part time. Both claim to earn $40 a day as cleaner washing dishes at AMK Ave Block 341 Ang Mo Kio (market place) next to town council blk 342.

Working hour 7am to 11am from Mon to Fri

Both claim to work same place, for the same boss, working the same hours.
