COVID-19 CASES SOARS FOR 2ND DAY STRAIGHT, 120 CASES REPORTED

118 new locally transmitted cases of Covid-19 were reported today (Aug 25), with 29 unlinked to previous infections.

This is the highest number of cases reported since July 30.

26 of these cases are linked to a dormitory at North Coast Lodge in Woodlands, and 25 of the 26 had already been placed on quarantine.

The number of Covid-19 cases in the dormitory now stands at 112.

63 of the 118 cases were linked and have already been placed on quarantine, 44 of the 63 cases were detected through surveilance.

Two seniors above the age of 70 are not vaccinated/partially vaccinated, and risk developing serious illnesses.

Two cases are imported, and one of them was detected on arrival while the other was detected in isolation.

Total case count for today is at 120.

There are now a total of 66,812 cases in Singapore since the pandemic started.
