Minister Lawrence Wong said earlier today that “we face an imminent wave of Omicron”.

Lawrence Wong posted on Facebook:

“We had our first MTF press conference of 2022 today, where we took stock of our current Covid-19 situation and the outlook for the coming weeks. Safe management measures remain important as we face an imminent wave of Omicron. As we look forward to Chinese New Year, let’s continue to exercise social responsibility, and help keep our family and friends safe.”

All the current indicators suggest that we must expect a surge in Omicron cases in the community quite soon, we have done everything we can to prepare for this Omicron wave.

We will strive to do our very best to ride through this upcoming wave with our existing safe management measures. Meaning to say we will keep our SMM settings as they are”
