Crazy Guy at Raffles Place
At around 9.15pm today, some well dressed dude in office attire was walking around the Raffles Place open area, harassing the foreign workers who were doing their construction job by shouting at them.
He then proceeded to harass a couple and spat at them (although his spit fell way short of the target).
I thought he was drunk or high on drugs etc, but when it came to crossing the road, he knew enough to watch out for cars and jog across.
What is the best way to handle such a person? Call the cops? Or just ignore?
Anyway, if anybody was hurt by the guy and wants a witness etc, do drop me a message.

- Call the police. Film the evidence while waiting for them to arrive, in case it should/need to be used later on. DO NOT share the video with anyone but the police.
This guy might be under the influence (of legal or illegal drugs) or having a meltdown that might need psychiatric help. It will be up to the police to determine what’s the next steps.
Do your duty as a human being. Do NOT shame that person online, but rather make sure the authorities will be in charge to handle the situation.
In other countries, where the police might be corrupt, things might be different, but in Singapore, you can be almost guaranteed assured that the police will take care of the matter reasonably, and with the best outcome for everyone.
- My personal experience is call police, they can handle or get someone to handle. I saw an old lady keeps running around a park, crying and shouting some dialect I don’t understand at random objects, then repeatedly body slammed a tree and had a shouting match with the tree.
I called 999, some police came down, managed to keep her still. Then they called someone, probably her caretaker, to come and fetch her.
- Call the cops if necessary. If there is danger of harm to him her self or to others, police will move faster. Harassing people may lead to physical harm so there is evidence of potential danger to others.
Should not handle yourself unless you think you are capable.
Can also ask the victims jf they are ok, need help, need witness? Now if the workers want to find you, I doubt they surf reddit la.
Drunk or mentally ill doesn’t mean dunno how to cross the road safely. There are many levels.
