A photo of an employment advertisement has been circulating on social media. According to the advertisement, a cafe located in Tanah Merah is looking to hire a helper to chase away birds. The job offers a monthly salary between $1700 – $1900.
According to a media release, the advertisement was from 2 years ago. The description indicated in the advertisement was being part of the hiring manager creativity. According to the hiring manager, the cafe was looking to hire a dishwasher instead.
The advertisement was written in such a way to attract job seekers attention as the manager find it hard to hire someone for the job back then.
However, the hiring manager creativity received backlash. Instead of attracting sincere job seekers, the cafe has been receiving prank calls in regards to the advertisement. With no choice, the owner of the cafe had to make a police report in regards to this matter.
