In a popular video shared on TikTok, a group of three close friends can be seen enjoying a delightful meal of hotpot at a local restaurant.
During their meal, one of the friends had an interesting item on his phone that he wanted to share with his companion. Unfortunately, in a rather clumsy moment, he accidentally dropped his phone into the steaming pot of soup right before he could show it.
Despite their efforts to retrieve the device from the hotpot, the situation took an unexpected turn as he clumsily dropped the phone in for a second time, much to the entertainment of viewers online.
The footage depicts a man wearing a white shirt seated beside a girl, both engrossed in the content on his phone. The incident reportedly occurred on 15th May in Beijing, China, as reported by local news sources.
Eager to share what he had on his phone with his friend sitting across from him, he reached out his arm to pass the device over. However, his grip faltered, causing the phone to slip and plunge into the bubbling hotpot.
His companion reacted swiftly, attempting to retrieve the gadget with bare hands, clearly shocked by the sudden mishap. Eventually, the man in the white shirt managed to rescue his phone by scooping it out with a ladle, visibly relieved to have salvaged it.
However, his relief was short-lived. Just as he was about to place the phone safely on the table, it slipped from his grasp and found its way into a different section of the hotpot. Without hesitation, he skillfully retrieved the phone using the ladles, finally managing to secure it on the table without any further incidents.
To ensure the phone’s cleanliness, he resorted to using multiple sheets of tissue paper, diligently wiping it down.
Since its upload, the video has attracted a staggering six million views on TikTok alone, captivating numerous online users. Many viewers expressed their astonishment at the fact that the man repeated the same mistake of dropping his phone into the soup not just once, but twice.
