A post has emerged online about a conversation between a FoodPanda rider and a customer who had ordered something from the FoodPanda app.
In the conversation, it was seen that the customer was asking the rider for a favour to help him get a Nintendo Switch game, Pokemon legend of arcues from a Game store in Compass One shopping centre which the customer said that he will pay in cash if the rider helps him to do so.
The rider agreed at the end of the conversation which goes:
C: I’ll pay you by cash.
C: Hello?
R: What thing?
C: Can you get me a copy of a Nintendo Switch Game
C: Called Pokemon legend of arcues
C: There’s a game store in Compass One too so it’s not too far
R: *Shows ‘ok’ hand sign emoji
The customer did not state any reason to the rider on why he or she could not have gotten the game by himself/herself.
Netizen’s comments
Other netizens who are presumably riders as well have commented on this case and here are some of the comments:
- I bring what u buy from panda.nothing extra. sorry! company policy should be your reply
- Just say shop still close. Still celebrating cny.
- Don’t layan (entertain) this kinda customer’s request. Most of the time when doing Panda, customer ask me to buy cigarettes.
- Just ask them for $50 extra. That time customer ask me buy ciggies, he paynow me $60 I went 711 buy 1 pack.
- Just say sorry you are unable comply, keep it short and simple and professional.
- no need to entertain. deliver what is on your app will do.
It was also noted that the rider had wanted to cancel this order as he feels that it is troublesome and nonsensical for him to have to fork out extra time to accede to this customer’s request.
A fellow rider had also asked the rider to call the FoodPanda dispatcher to reject the customer on his behalf but he claimed that the dispatcher had ask him to proceed with the delivery and request.
