A video emerged online showing an errant cyclist riding across the road at a traffic junction when the traffic light was red against his favour.

He ended up being hit by a taxi after the traffic light had turned green for the vehicles to move.
The incident happened somewhere along Tampines, on 9 October at about 4.01pm, and was captured on the dashcam of another vehicle nearby.
Potential penalties
Persons caught jaywalking can be fined $50 on the spot. They can also be charged and fined up to $1,000, or jailed up to three months. Repeat offenders may be fined up to $2,000 or jailed up to six months.
