CYCLIST FINED $300 FOR SPEEDING, RIDE BICYCLE OVER 15KM/H AT BOON LAY

A cyclist was fined SGD$300 after he was found riding his bicycle exceeding the maximum speed limit of 15KM/H.

The incident happened on 3 August 2021 at around 9.03 AM along Boon Lay Way near a bus stop.

He is facing a fine after violating a regulation of the public path under regulation 5 of the active mobility regulations 2018.

Netizens said that:

“That speed is abt 2x the normal running pace…if you are unlucky to be knocked standing by this bicycle speed

you probably will ended flying off any 3m and cracked bones. This speed can kill any children and elders”
