A 73 year old man was arrested for criminal intimidation after he trying to stab his son with a knife. The 73 year old man lived with his son in a HDB flat in Yishun Ring Road.
The son said that his father’s temper became extremely bad and he got irritated easily after his mother’s passing. He would swear and frown all day long. The son stated that his father would get angry when he tries to clean his mothers items. But the issue was that the items that his mother kept were old paper bags and old tooth brushes. The items did not hold any value and they were unhygienic.
The incident occurred when he was clearing the kitchen and wanted to throw away the old paper bags and toothbrushes. When his father found out, he became furious and took a fruit knife and tried to stab him.
His father shouted “If you throw them away, I will kill you before killing myself.” The son was worried about getting hurt so he called the police.
When the police arrived, his father had placed the knife down, but he was still arrested. The knife was also confiscated by the police.
Investigations are ongoing.
