Daiso is one of the only shops in Singapore where you can count easily how much you are paying for but this will soon be a thing of the past, the Japanese retailer will start charging 7% GST from 1st May 2022.

A notice was put up at the outlets informing that there will be a price change.
In the notice it says:

Dear valued customers,
Thank you for all your continuous support. We always strive to keep prices as affordable as possible. To continue improving the quality of our products, there will be a price change.

All prices will be exclusive of GST from 1st May 2022.
Prices of Daiso items with GST
- May 1, 2022, each item = S$2.14
- Jan 1, 2023, each item = S$2.16
- Jan 1, 2024, each item = S$2.18
A calculation was done in the Facebook post with 8% GST in 2023 and 9% GST in 2024.
