DEE KOSH CHARGED FOR CRIMES & EXPLOITING YOUNG PERSONS

Former DJ Darryl Ian Koshy, more commonly known as Dee Kosh, was charged in court today (Aug 19) for multiple offences which includes exploitation of a young person and making obscene films.

He was handed seven charge sheets in total which includes offences like

  1. Communicating with a minor for purpose of obtaining adult services.
  2. Exploitation of a young person
  3. Making and possessing an obscene film.

He is accused of offering $2,000 to a 16 year old boy in February and $1,000 to a 17 year old boy in July 2018 to perform a similar explicit act on him.

He is also accused of another two occasions of attempting to procure an indecent act by a 15 year old boy between March and June 2018 by asking the boy to perform explicit acts on him and in August 2020, offered a 17 year old $1,000 to blow his weenie.

He has been offered $20,000 bail and will return to court next month.

His actions sparked a scandal last year where he faced many accusations of grooming boys which he initially denied, but came out to say that he would take necessary steps to clear up the allegations last August.

He would face up to five years jail, fined up to $10,000 or both if convicted under the Children and Young Persons Act.

Additionally, if found guilty of communications for purpose of obtaining explicit services of a minor, he faces another two years imprisonment and a fine.

For making an obscene film he could be jailed for two years, and a fine between $20,000 and $40,000.

For possession of an obscene film, a maximum of six months jail, and a fine up to $20,000 or both will be meted out.
