A Facebook user, Tiara Nadrina, shared how she placed an order for Korean food via Deliveroo and asked them if the food was halal.
Deliveroo allegedly confirmed with them that the food was halal and after she confronted them, saying that the food was not halal, they then checked and confirmed that it was not halal after all.
She then wanted to get a refund because she had already placed an order for the (now ascertained to be non-halal) food, and they told her that her refund will be transacted in 5-10 days.
Here is what she said
KClove Korean Cuisine is NOT HALAL but is advertised as halal on Deliveroo App.
Reported to Deliveroo initially they just told me it is halal then when i said i checked it is not halal, they said they will check.
After that they confirmed it is not halal certified and wanted to leave it just as that. I demanded my refunds and they said they will refund me and to check 5-10 days later.
They ended chat just like that after i demanded they get the vendor to remove the halal word on their deliveroo app if not i report to authories and share with my family and friends.
I am new to this app and ordered twice, i will not use this app again to order. At least on grab and food panda, it is not stated as halal for this company, but due to phobia will check on other companies too nevertheless.

Here is Deliveroos statement:
“We take this extremely seriously and are investigating as a matter of urgency. Aside from processing a full refund to the customer, we have taken immediate action to remove the restaurant partner’s ‘Halal’ tag from our platform. We will continue to review our restaurant verification process to deliver the best possible experience for our customers.”
