The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) responded to media queries and said that action has been taken against 10 errant F&B outlets in Singapore after infringements were found.
All 10 offenders were fined for breaching safe distancing regulations, which included:
- Accepting reservations for more than 5 persons.
- Intermingling or large groups across tables.
- Failure to observe 1m distancing between tables.
- Alcohol consumption at the premises after 10.30pm.
URA added that several outlets at China Square and Prinsep Street were repeatedly breaching the regulations.
Der Biergarten at Prinsep Street, The Mask at Circular Road and Zui Yu Xuan Teochew Cuisine at Amoy Street had their dine-in activities suspended for 10 days, from August 28 to September 6.
As a repeat offender, Der Biergarten was fined a higher amount of S$2,000.
Their other two outlets at China Square, and Folks Collective and Botan, were also required to suspend alcohol sales for 10 days.
URA added that F&B outlets should “actively intervene” if they notice intermingling of customers between different tables.
