DIRECTOR AND MANAGER OF FROZEN FOOD COMPANY IN JOHOR CHARGED FOR FAKE HALAL LOGOS

In Senai, Johor, a director, and a manager of a seafood company has been charged with connection to the meat scandal happening in Johor.

The director, 40, and the manager, 48, were said to be using fake halal logos for meat packages that are not certified as halal. But they did not plead guilty to the offenses in the Sessions Court.

Both of the suspects together with another director still not caught was charged with seven charges. The company itself was also faced with 7 charges.

According to the director, the offense was executed around Dec1 to Dec 3 last year at their company in Senai.

The suspects will be put on bail at RM250,000 and asked to surrender their passports.
