So I am working as a secretary, I have been in this company about 6 months and in that time I have seen come and go:
- 4 managers
- 13 executives
The manager (Let’s call him Ben) has been there for about 8 years even though the owner (Lets call him Tony) keeps trying to replace him, but that’s a different story. I’m going to talk about Tony.
He is an older guy, about 62, and he is the most disgusting man I have ever worked for in my life. He is a pervert and when girls come in for interviews he will sit down with them for about 3 hours, ply them with drinks, give them food and tell them the same recycled story:
- He used to work for some big big MNC
- He has a supermodel girlfriend (who leaves her panties in his car according to him)
- He is looking for someone to really change things around here (BS)
In reality what he does is offer these girls jobs as managers or whatever positions he promises, and then uses that as an excuse to talk to them for hours about perverted things. When the girl asks to bring the conversation back to the office he says “But if you want to be a manager here we need to know each other better.” One girl told me that he asked her things that she would be uncomfortable telling her boyfriend.
He hires girls from as young as 17 and brings in clothes for them to wear, all the time talking to them about inappropriate things. He will ring them and try to convince them to go to the cinema with him.
He gets jealous if I talk to any of the girls too much or hang out with them after work. He uses pseudonyms when he rings girls for interviews, pretending to be the hiring manager for the restaurant chain when theres only one restaurant! In this persona he even refers to himself as a ‘child prodigy’. He even has a wife he pretends does not exist.
When I’m off work he often calls me and asked me to come back, he even asked me to leave my boyfriend if I cannot “prioritise my boss”.
My question is how can I get him to suffer? What rights do I have and who can I contact to hold him accountable? I don’t think I can get him on anything S because he is careful and the 12 or so girls that have quit because of him are hard to contact.
‘How can I do it but still protect my job? I need to pay bills!
