In a recent incident, a local resident was left feeling frustrated and out of pocket after being overcharged by a Grab driver. The incident occurred when the resident took a Grab ride, unaware that her card would be charged. During the ride, she asked the driver if he accepted PayNow, and the driver agreed, claiming he didn’t have change to return. The resident proceeded to PayNow him $11.

However, when she arrived home, she received a notification that her card had been charged $10.80. The resident was taken aback, realizing that she had been double-charged. She sought help from Grab’s customer support, but unfortunately, they were unable to assist her. The reason? The transaction of $11 made via mobile number was different from the registered mobile number on file.

The resident was appalled by the driver’s dishonesty, as not only did he take advantage of her, but he also provided a fake mobile number to avoid detection. The resident, who relies on public transportation, was left feeling frustrated and helpless.
