A woman who was working as a temporary staff in Grab office was fined SGD$5,000 after a branded watch was pocketed by her.
26-year-old Kaushalia Kathiravan pocketed a Cartier watch worth over SGD$5,000 from the Grab lost-found-found section of the office. She pleaded guilty in court for criminal breach of trust.
What happened?
The incident happened back in July 2019, a Grab driver Mr Tan found a watch that was left behind by a passenger. He handed the watch to Grab’s property office at 28 Sin Ming Lane.
Kaushalia who was sorting through the lost-and-found items decided to pocket the watch and told other staff in the office there that was no watch. However, little did she know that her actions were recorded by a CCTV.
