A man posted on Facebook stating that his wife was fired on the 2nd day of her new job because she discussed her salary with her new colleagues.
Here is the story:
Salary is often a taboo topic in the office, but is it that big of a deal that people can’t talk about it?
My wife just got fired on her 2nd day on the job because she discussed wages with her coworkers
Yesterday at work my wife’s new coworkers asked her how much she made and when she told them they found out she made more than them. Fast forward to today when my wife gets to work she finds out that one of the new coworkers quit over the wages and they fired my wife on the spot for discussing wages.
What do we do?
Here are what netizens think:
- In most employment contracts, often states that the salary is a secret and most people won’t even talk about it.
- Sometimes, people get into trouble for talking too much. This is true.
- She probably deserves it cause her contract sure got state. If not they also won’t fire her on the 2nd day of work.
- Sometimes being honest might not be a good thing, better to keep you mouth shut and move on and find another job.
