Hospital “regrets” incident

Following the tragic and traumatic incident, the hospital released a statement and said that they deeply regretted the loss of the baby.

They said that the child was 30 weeks old at the time and before the botched delivery, the doctors had allegedly assessed the fetus to be suffering from several health issues that made her “incompatible for life”, including the malformation of her lungs.

They added that their medical staff had induced the baby’s birth as the mother’s condition was deteriorating at the time, with her blood pressure increasing as well as generalised edema.

The hospital also said that they have launched an internal investigation into the incident, adding that “an internal administrative process has been opened for investigation of the facts” and that they will be providing a report from the medical examination.

The body of the deceased baby is also presently with the authorities for investigations, and the family said that they will be planning for their daughter’s burial after getting her remains back.
