Dr Yeo Sow Nam was previously accused of molesting a woman in October 2017 but the case has since been discharged after the woman who accused Yeo of molestation admitted to lying.
The 32-year-old woman who gave false statements claims that Yeo had touched her breast and even kissed her.
Earlier today(Aug 16), the woman admitted in court that she was lying.
The case affected the doctor’s family and friends, for the past 4 years one can only imagine the prejudice he would face for the serious allegations.
A molestation case will usually have a gag order to protect the identity of the victim, however, the woman was not a victim but a liar. As the gag order still stands the woman’s name cannot be published.
This proves to show that a person’s word can easily destroy another person’s livelihood and an imbalance in the system can allow an individual to tarnish the reputation of another.
