A Fiery Night to Remember
The incident took place on a seemingly ordinary night when a double-decker bus, cruising down Tampines Avenue 4, caught fire.

It was apparent that no passengers were on board, which, fortunately, reduced the risk to human life.
A Desperate Call for Help
As the flames raged at the rear of the bus, the TikTok user decided to take immediate action. The netizen, who was with a friend at the time, recorded themselves calling the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) for help.
During the call, the operator asked “Is this a private bus?” The friend then promptly responded that it was a public bus. However, the situation became more perplexing when the operator asked if anybody was trapped inside and the friend, in the heat of the moment, mistakenly replied that many people were trapped inside.
It was his friend who clarified the situation, explaining that the operator was inquiring about individuals stuck in the bus. He quickly rectified his response, confirming that no one was trapped.
The video recording reached its climax when two fire engines appeared at the scene, sirens blaring.

The SCDF confirmed the incident and said that they were alerted to the incident at Tampines Avenue 4, on 16 October at about 10.15pm.
