The police confirmed that a 66-year-old male driver of the car has since been arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous hurt.

The cyclist was seen cycling across the road when the car thundered through the red light and ran him over, sending the cyclist spinning 360 degrees in the air.

The victim had stopped momentarily when he saw the car heading towards him but it was too late to react, and he smashed onto the car’s windscreen before being flung midair.

The cyclist, a 41-year-old man, was unconscious when sent to the hospital.
