A Honda Shuttle was seen failing to conform to the red light signal and beating the traffic light in a video that emerged earlier today.
The driver almost hit a group of pedestrians and cyclists, before almost crashing into another vehicle as a result of his actions.
The driver said in a caption that he was blinded by the morning sun and didn’t notice that the traffic light had already turned red.
He added that it was a “mistake on my end” and that he is expected to be fined.
The incident happened earlier today on 23 January at about 10.19am, along Punggol Road.
Here is his statement
I admit that was a mistake on my end as I was kinda distracted after being mildly blinded by the morning sun and failed to see the lights had already turned red.
It’s not an excuse and I am expecting to be fined for my moment of lapse.
It is an offence to beat a red light in Singapore.
