A driver who rented a BlueSG car had crashed the vehicle into a road sign and damaged the bumper and hood.

The accident happened on 6 June.

He then made police report as well as went to Indeco to file an accident report as instructed by the car sharing company’s customer service department.

He said that the staff at Indeco allegedly told him that the cost of repair “won’t be too high” based on the accident photos.

However, the driver alleged that BlueSG tried to deduct $5,750 from him without any prior notice and breaking down of what’s being repaired.

Here is what he said

I’m recommended by a friend to join the group for possible solution on the excess and would like to find out more on “surveyer”.

The accident happened on 1st May, I accidentally hit the road sign and caused a slight dent to the left side of the hood and bumper. Luckily the road sign is not damaged.

The towing uncle came and said that the repair cost should be just a few hundred dollars while the car was still operational since no air bag came out.

So I continued to the nearest police post to make police report and I went to Indeco to file the accident report as per customer service’s instruction.

The staff at Indeco also mentioned that the cost of repair will not be too high after he saw the photos of the accident scene.

However, what surprised me the most is that BlueSG was trying to deduct the $5,750.00 without any prior notice and NO BREAKING DOWN of what’s being repaired and I demand for the breaking down of the cost. So far still no reply. Luckily there’s insufficient cash for them to deduct from my account.

I understand I’m fully responsible to it due to mistakes in maneuver that BlueSG indicated that $750 is the admin fee or towing but how can it be possible to charge at $5,000 excess for damaging the hood and bumper?!

The customer service stuff called again on 4 June and they keep on mentioning that no breaking down would be provided since it’s stated on T&C. I told her that I’m not convinced by it unless a list of items repaired is shown. Then she said that I can get a “surveyer” to appeal for the cost. I’m really confused by that and hope to get a clearer picture with some advise.

Thanks for taking your time reading this post! Please comment or PM me if you faced same situation as I do.
