The incident happened on 25 May at about 9.13pm somewhere along Jalan Pemimpin, and it was captured on the dashcam of the car that was hit.

The Honda Shuttle could be seen in the dashcam footage reversing and hitting the camcar, before performing a three-point turn and driving off.

The driver didn’t leave a note or anything to the car that he hit, or alighted to assess the damage that he caused.

Potential penalties

It is a punishable offence to leave the scene of an accident, which is considered a hit-and-run – upon conviction, first-time offenders face a fine of up to $3,000 or a jail term of up to 12 months.
