
Following the horrific accident involving two buses at Bukit Batok Bus Interchange, resulting in one of the buses smashing through a railing and falling on its side, leaving 17 people injured, a 65-year-old bus captain was arrested.
The bus that crashed on its side was carrying passengers.
Tower Transit said that the driver of the bus without passengers has been suspended, and that investigations are ongoing.
Another bus captain who was walking on the pavement remains hospitalised after falling over the railing, lying on the ground motionless.
Tower Transit said that they will continue to check on the warded passengers and staff, and assist in their medical and insurance claims.
The bus captain in question was arrested for a “rash act causing grievous hurt”.
At the time of writing, police investigations are still ongoing.
