According to Shin Min Daily News, the accident occurred around 10.45am on Sunday at the Shell petrol station along Hougang Avenue 3.
Kena the McDonald sign
A tow truck was spotted in front of the station, which has a McDonald’s outlet with a Drive-Thru.
Eyewitnesses reported that the car, a black vehicle, had driven onto the grass verge and collided with the McDonald’s sign, causing it to become askew.
Photos taken at the scene showed the extent of the damage caused by the crash.
The driver, a woman, suffered facial injuries but declined to be sent to the hospital. She appeared to have escaped serious injury but was in shock following the incident.
Passers-by came to her aid, helping her as she recovered from the shock of the crash.
Driver refused to be sent to hospital
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) confirmed that they had received a report about the incident and that medics had been dispatched to help one injured person.
However, the driver declined to be conveyed to the hospital.
The incident caused a cordon to be set up around the scene of the accident to prevent members of the public from approaching.
The tow truck was seen removing the damaged car from the grass verge at around noon.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices and the potential consequences of losing control of a vehicle.
It is fortunate that no one else was injured in this incident and that the driver did not suffer more serious injuries.
