A hit and run accident took place on 29 January at a road junction at Jurong Town Hall, between a Toyota Sienta and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was seen in the video crossing the road when the Toyota then ran the pedestrian over before driving off.
A few motorists then stepped forward to help the stricken pedestrian, and they appeared to be stunned by what they had just seen.
The good samaritan in grey was seen gesturing towards another kind-hearted man in red, appearing as though he was asking “did you just see that?”
The penalty for failing to give way to pedestrians at a pedestrian crossing is a $150 fine and 6 demerit points.
It is a punishable offence to leave the scene of an accident, which is considered a hit-and-run – upon conviction, first-time offenders face a fine of up to $3,000 or a jail term of up to 12 months.
