Driver Sent To Hospital After Car Overturns In Multi-Vehicle Accident In Serangoon Central

A 36-year-old driver was taken to the hospital after his car overturned following a collision involving three taxis along Serangoon Central in the early hours of Saturday (20 June).

The accident occurred shortly after midnight near NEX shopping mall, an area known for its heavy traffic and busy taxi stand.

Images circulating on social media showed a white car lying upside down in the middle of the road, surrounded by three blue ComfortDelGro taxis.

The overturned vehicle appeared to have sustained significant front-end damage, with its front-left wheel severely deformed. Debris was also scattered across the road as police officers and emergency responders attended to the scene.

Multi-Vehicle Collision Happened Near NEX Mall

According to the Singapore Police Force (SPF), officers were alerted to the incident at around 12am along Serangoon Central in the direction of Yio Chu Kang Road.

Preliminary information indicated that the crash involved one car and three taxis.

Photographs from the scene showed varying degrees of damage among the taxis. One taxi had a dented front bumper, while another appeared to have sustained damage to its rear section.

Emergency personnel, including an ambulance, were seen assisting those involved and managing the accident scene.

Driver Conveyed To Tan Tock Seng Hospital

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call for assistance at about 12.05am.

A conscious 36-year-old male driver was subsequently taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for further medical assessment and treatment.

Authorities also confirmed that another individual suffered minor injuries but declined transportation to the hospital.

Police Investigations Ongoing

The driver is currently assisting police with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the accident.
