The BMW sports car was suspected of speeding and somehow drove into the reverse lane and lost control and crashed into a section of Tanjong Pagar Road. After a shophouse, there was an explosion and fire somehow. Five people in the car were killed. The 26-year-old former flight attendant was sent to the hospital with severe burns after trying to save her fiance.

It is understood that the BMW driver is a Chinese man named Jonathan Long (29 years old). The four passengers are Gary Wong Hong Chieh (29 years old), Eugene Yap (29 years old), and Elvin Tan Yong Hao (28 years old), and Teo Qi Xiang (26 years old).

A friend who knew the victim said: “This is a used car with a price of more than $200,000. Jonathan also bought it a few months ago.”

According to online sources, the original price of the BMW M4 Coupe that caused the accident exceeded $400,000.

Another friend said that on the same day the group went to a Korean restaurant near the incident site to celebrate the New Year, and later believed that Jonathan wanted to take his friend to “test the car”. There were four passengers in the car.

According to a few witnesses, they stated that some people were seen getting on a white BMW before the incident, and the car made a few laps nearby. Later, the BMW lost control for some reason, rammed into the shophouse, and then caught fire.

Hu Xiuhui, Jonathan’s fiancee, tried to open the door of the car to save her fiance, but she suffered burns. She is still receiving treatment in the burn department in the ICU.
