The Singapore Police Force (SPF) are looking for a driver who had left the accident scene after a vehicular accident near the Istana on the morning of 4 March.
A video of the incident was posted on Facebook, showing a grey-coloured Honda Stream sitting stationary along the left lane of Cavenagh Road, near the Concorde Hotel.
The netizen who posted the video, said: “Saw this at 7am – 12pm. Took a long time to clear the Cavenagh Road outside Istana.
crashed into Istana barrier (inside bushes) and took police 5 hours to drag out and process. CSI unit, sniffer dogs all on location”
The front left tyre was seen to be dislodged from the chassis of the car, with the front bumper also lying on the grass patch at the side of the road after being flung out, presumably due to the impact from the accident.
About 5 police cars, 2 police motorbikes, a police van, a K-9 unit police van and a tow truck were also seen in the circulating video.
The Singapore Police Force said that they were alerted to the accident on Saturday at about 7.30am, and there were no injuries reported.
According to the Police’s preliminary investigations, the car had skidded off the road while trying to turn around a bend along Cavenagh Road.
At the time of writing, police investigations are ongoing.
Update: The 27-year-old male driver has been arrested by the police for careless driving.
