
The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said in a news release that about $230,000 worth of drugs were seized during raids conducted in Ang Mo Kio and Bukit Panjang on Thursday (August 27).
Five people were arrested for suspected drug activities.
The seized drugs consisted of about 2kg of cannabis, 291g of heroin and 550g of methamphetamine.
On Thursday evening, CNB officers intercepted a car near Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and arrested two men, aged 30 and 50 years old.
About 550g of Ice were seized from the car.
The 30-year-old was then brought to his residence at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10, where a search was conducted and 291g of heroin, as well as 1kg of cannabis was found.
A 26-year-old woman was also arrested there.
CNB officers then arrested a 47-year-old man at Bukit Panjang Ring Road in a follow-up operation and found about 10g of cannabis in his possession.
A flat was also raided in the same block and a 42-year-old man was arrested, CNB said that the man “was believed to have discarded a package out of the unit’s window”, they recovered the package and discovered about 965g of cannabis.
CNB also added that investigations into the drug activities of the suspects are ongoing.
