On 1 February 2021, Yap 40 years-old, a manager and bouncer of Club V5 have been charged with raping and molesting a woman and a pending charge of molesting the victim in a car.
The incident happened sometime in September 2018. One of his friends, Tay, 28, booked a chalet then for his friends from the club to enjoy themself and that was when the incident happened.
After the night of drinking, the victim was drunk and unconscious. The group of men brought her to the chalet. When they reached the chalet at 7 am, Yap’s friends talk him into raping the victim as she was already lying on the bed. Yap listened to his friend’s advice and violated her.
While doing so, one of his friends Gan, recorded the process of the dirty deeds. At around 9 am, Yap got dressed and helped the victim to dress up too and called a taxi to bring her back to her house. But she could not wake up, so Yap decided to bring her to a hotel at Geylang instead.
During the stay in the hotel, Yap molested her again. The victim woke up at around 7 pm and found out that something was not right. She realized that something amiss happened but did not report to the police straight away as she felt lost and didn’t know what to do.
After a week, she went to Club V5 again and confronted Yap and he apologized for what happened during that day.
After confiding her mother, she made a police report.
The 3 culprits who were involved in the act all faces charges against them and will be cahrged.
