
A 47-year-old was arrested after he allegedly behave in an improper manner while interacting with Police officers.
On Oct 25 at around 9.50 PM, the Police were alerted after a drunk man caused annoyance along Clementi Ave 5. When Police officers arrived at the scene the drunk was behaving aggressively and starts shouting.
When officers moved in for the arrest, the man started to use abusive language on the Police officer and allegedly kicked the officer as well.
The man was charged in court earlier today for using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging of his duties, Using abusive words towards a public servant and causing annoyance whilst drunk
Penalties
If convicted of using criminal force to deter a public servant the man can be jailed for a maximum of 4 years and/or fine.
If convicted of using abusive language, the man can be jailed up to 12 months and or fined $5,000.
If convicted of causing annoyance whilst drunk he can be jailed for up 6 months and/or fine $1,000.
