DRUNK MAN STARTS FIGHT AFTER SLAPPING CHINATOWN SUPERMARKET MANAGER, ARRESTED

A fight broke out at Scarlett Supermarket in Chinatown in the afternoon of 12 February, after a drunken man threw the shop’s products all over the place and slapped the store manager.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the drunken man, a 45-year-old, was later conveyed to the hospital and arrested by the police.

The incident took place on 12 February at about 2.27pm, and a video of the fracas was then shared on the social media platform Douyin.

The man wearing a black t-shirt, was seen in the video fighting in front of the cashiering counters, as one of the cashiering staff tried to stop the man by hitting him with a basket.

Several of the goods being displayed at the shop were knocked over as the fight got increasingly heated.

As the fray between the two reached an equilibrium, the onlookers then stepped in to help subdue the drunken kungfu master.

In another video, the man was seen being pinned to the ground by three men, as he shouted at them to let him go.

A large group of curious onlookers had gathered around the supermarket to watch the commotion, and about 5 minutes later, the police had arrived at the scene as well.

One of the staff members was interviewed by the police about the incident, and confirmed with Shin Min Daily News that the store manager was injured in the fight.

The staff said that the drunk man was queueing up at the cashier to make payment before throwing things around and asking the manager to pick them up.

The manager refused and the man then gave him a slap, and a fight then ensured.

The Singapore Police Force confirmed that a 45-year-old man was arrested for the incident after being conveyed to the hospital conscious.
