In the bustling city of Marina Bay Sands, a curious incident unfolded one night that left both a taxi driver and his passenger bewildered.

This peculiar story brings to light the “adventures” of a drunk woman at Marina Bay Sands, who had already called a taxi but ended up in the wrong vehicle, resulting in an overcharge complaint, according to STOMP.

Wrong vehicle

At about 2.30am, the drunk woman called for a taxi to go home from Marina Bay Sands. When the taxi driver finally arrived, the woman (who was his regular passenger) was nowhere to be found.

It turned out in her drunken stupor, she had mistakenly boarded the wrong vehicle. This was no ordinary mix-up; the vehicle she had entered was a “party bus,” a minibus with an elaborately modified interior.

The Overcharge Complaint

Curiosity arose: Why did the woman choose the party bus instead of her intended taxi? It seems that she was simply eager to get home and was too drunk at the time.

The twist in the tale came when she mentioned that the party bus driver had demanded a hefty sum of $120 for the trip, and she made payment with her card.

In her inebriated state, the woman finally made it home. But the overcharge weighed heavily on her mind, leading her to make a call to her original taxi driver.

She questioned him about the apparent overcharge, to which he calmly explained that she had, in fact, boarded the wrong vehicle. She then asked him to help her resolve the issue.

The original taxi driver then went to her residence in Tanglin to pick her up and returned to Marina Bay Sands. There, they confronted the party bus driver, who denied any wrongdoing.

The situation escalated to the point where the police were called. Ultimately, the party bus driver agreed to refund the woman half of the money, although he maintained that some form of service had been provided and he couldn’t bear a complete loss.
