After a heated argument with her fiancé, a drunken girl lay in Jalan Sultan Road’s middle lane. A lorry narrowly avoided a collision with the woman.
36-year-old Punitha Stephaniyan, 36 pleaded guilty, among other charges, to causing an annoyance while drunk in public. One count was for committing a reckless act to endanger safety. Her sentencing hearing will consider three similar charges.
What happen?
On 21st July 2021, Punitha got drunk and started a scene with a fiance at Textile Center in the middle of the night, she started shouting at the first floor of Textile Centre before laying on the ground outside the building.
After receiving a complaint from a tenant, the security staff on duty called the Police to report the incident.
Moments later Punitha ran on the road and laid in the middle of it, a lorry managed to jam brake in time before hitting her and the Police arrived.
The couple tried to leave but they were stopped by the Police.
