Yap Bei Xiang, 34, was sentenced to five months jail after punching his father Mr Yap Eng Huat in the eye three times after he came home drunk after a drinking session.

The incident happened in their Woodlands flat on March 25. A dispute broke out between the father and son before the elder Yap was assaulted. The assault gave Mr Yap a black eye.
It was believed that the son was a heavy drinker. After the assault, Yap’s sister called the police and he was arrested.
Yap is currently out on bail of $15,000.
