E-BIKERS TO HAVE NUMBER PLATES AND REGISTERED WITH LTA

A compulsory rule has been set for all E-Bikers. It is now compulsory to register your devices with LTA and assigned with a valid plate number.

It is an offence if the e-bike does not have a valid number plate.

E-bikers that fail to register before 1st Jan 2018 will be considered breaking the law. E-bikes that fail to register faces a fine of up to SGD$2000 and up to 3 months jail term for first-time offenders. This is a deterrence against illegally modified E-bikes.

Registration begins on the 14th of August 2017.
