Cantopop superstar Eason Chan revealed during a live stream that he is very stressed at the moment because he is unemployed due to the pandemic.
He further revealed that he is left with about HKD30 million in his bank account (roughly about SGD $3.82 million) after not having any work in about a year.
The singer was supposed to hold 25 concerts between December 2019 to January 2020 but they were all postponed due to the 2019 Hong Kong protests and the pandemic.
He said that he paid about HKD600k on his housing, along with giving his wife a monthly allowance.
He then ranted on his stream, asking “what do I work so hard for? it’s for her (his wife) to spend”, as he explains that he doesn’t control his wife’s spending habits.
Chan also reportedly had to pay Adidas a fee of HKD60 million in 2021 after severing ties with the company as their ambassador due to the Xinjiang cotton saga.
