The owner of a Mr Boger, a burger restaurant in Malaysia, took to Facebook to share how he fired 3 Gen Z workers in just 3 months for their poor working attitudes.
The 19-year-old boss said that he had initially wanted to hire workers around his age because he thought it would help make communicating with them easier.
He said that he felt a sense of sympathy for his peers because some of them didn’t finish their studies, and offered them employment with a salary of RM1,500.
However, the Gen Zs that he hired were lacklustre and unmotivated with work, they took long toilet breaks despite having eaten nothing, frequently taking off days without informing him, coming to work late and leaving work early.
He lamented how his workers were not desperate to make a living, but rather to live a wasteful and slacking life.
Summing up his post, he issued a message to his former workers, saying “hopefully you won’t regret your actions in the future. I hope you find a boss that’s better than me and lets you go to the toilet for an hour and take unlimited leave.”
In another Facebook post, he said that he was hesitant to offer a higher salary because he’s new to the industry and that each of the workers had agreed on the salary during the job interview.
However, he has since increased the salary in a new job listing that he has posted.
