An elderly man was taken to hospital after his hand and part of his arm became trapped inside an iJooz vending machine in Hougang, prompting an emergency response on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at 1 Hougang Street 91 on August 2, where members of the public gathered as emergency responders worked to assist the man. A video of the incident has since circulated on social media, drawing thousands of views and sparking discussion about how the unusual accident happened.

Footage uploaded to TikTok showed the elderly man standing beside the vending machine with his forearm lodged inside the dispensing area. He was seen attempting to free himself while several bystanders looked on.
