In a shocking turn of events, Ahmad Robinson, a 72-year-old recalcitrant offender, recently made headlines for a series of violent incidents, including assaulting a bus driver and attacking police officers.
He pleaded guilty to 5 charges that included assaulting a police officer and voluntarily causing grievous hurt to a bus driver, and was sentenced on 27 November to 9 years and 8 months imprisonment, according to The Straits Times.

Ahmad’s journey into criminality dates back to 2002 when he was convicted of morphine consumption.
Shockingly, Ahmad continued his morphine consumption, leading to a discovery of drug traces in his urine during a routine test in September 2021.
Bus Assault Drama Unfolds
On Nov 2, 2021, Ahmad, accompanied by Aziz Khan Sher Khan, boarded bus service number 2 with beer cans in hand near Selarang Halfway House.
The tension escalated as the duo failed to comply with mask regulations, catching the attention of bus driver Hew Kim Keong.
Upon being confronted by Mr. Hew, Ahmad and Khan became agitated. The situation reached a boiling point when a scuffle broke out, leading to a brutal assault on the bus driver. The assault culminated in the accidental opening of the bus doors, allowing the offenders to flee the scene.
Separately, a video also emerged online on the @sgnewsdaily Instagram page, showing a bus driver being attacked; although it has not been confirmed that it is the actual footage of the attack.

Legal Ramifications
In the aftermath, Khan was swiftly arrested and subsequently sentenced to jail for voluntarily causing grievous hurt to Mr. Hew. The legal system imposed an additional penalty for committing the offense while on remission.
Meanwhile, Ahmad managed to evade the authorities, leading to a warrant of arrest. The chase intensified when Ahmad’s son tipped off the police about his father’s whereabouts in February 2020.
