A Facebook user shared on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page about how her elderly mother was allegedly tricked into buying

  1. a fake jade bangle for $180,
  2. a fake jade ring for $28,
  3. a magnet designed as a ten-thousand dollar note for $20 and
  4. a keychain for $38.

Here is what she said

“This incident happened on 8th august tuesday around 9am, after my mum had left the polyclinic after her blood test, as my dad given her six fifty dollar notes for her to pay her medical bills,

but the staffs at the polyclinic told her that they don’t accept cash, have to make payment by cards etc,

after that she happen to passed by the a street vendor selling accessories,

there’s this old man wearing red t-shirt and shorts whom seems to be in his 70s or 80s, tricked my mum into paying for fake, useless and worthless knick knacks items that includes a fake jade ring ($28), a fake jade bangle ($180), fake sg ten thousand dollar note replica fridge magnet with double sided tape behind ($20) and a gourd keychain ($38),

at first he asked my mum to buy the fridge magnet that cost $20, he told my mum (你拿钱来我找给你) meaning you take out the money, I’ll give you back the change, my mum took out at $50 note, he returned my mum the $30 change,

after that he asked my mum to try on the jade bangle and even try to push the jade bangle into her left hand, despite she already felt pain he still try to force it into her hand, and asked my mum to pay for the jade bangle that was stuck in her hand,

she only wanna take out three $50 notes at first but she accidentally took out the remaining five $50 notes, total $250 he just took all of them from her hand amd said no to change (不用找了) then just picked another two items which was the jade ring and the gourd keychain and passed to my mum,

when she asked for her change back, he just plainly ignored her question!

He didn’t even bother to issue her a receipt for the items, during that day’s evening my mom and I put a plastic bag on her hand and tried to pull the bangle out gently at first and with a bit of force but we failed as it remained stuck in her left hand unable to had it removed,

the next day morning on 9th august wednesday morning my younger brother had finally managed to pull the jade bangle out of my mother’s hand,

on 10th august thursday, we went back to the stall in the eveing before his stall closes,

I question this old man that my mum didn’t intend to buy anything, why did you try to force the jade bangle and tricked her into buying these useless and worthless stuffs, he said that my mum wanted to buy them?!

I went on and said we wanna to return the items and get the full refund of total $270 back, but he said cannot, once he sold the items he doesn’t do refund, which I think is a load of bullshit!

A police report has been made on 10th august thursday, I seriously doubt that he even had any license to set up a stall like to con people of their hard earned money!

Everyone, please do beware of this unethical and unscrupulously old man cheater/swindler at *location redacted*
