
Netizen Penny Chua pointed out in a social media post that when she was refuelling at the Shell Oil Station in front of the Bukit Timah Cooked Food Center, she found that the staff responsible for refuelling customers seemed very upset, so she asked him if he had dinner.
“Then he showed me this piece of cardboard which had a car licence plate number, $133.80 and the words ‘Run Away No Pay’ written on it,” she wrote
“I’ve informed Uncle Ivan to ask his company to lodge a police report but he’s not keen as he’s afraid of losing his job,”
“Apparently it’s quite common for petrol stations to deduct the pump attendants’ salary for cases where drivers didn’t pay. The onus is on the pump attendants to ensure the drivers make payments.”
However, the carplate is fake and it cannot be found on One Motoring website
The elderly staff told her that the customer went to the petrol station to refuel at about 6 pm on the 21st of last month and paid with a shell card. Unexpectedly, the payment was not successful, so he had to be deducted from his salary to bear the gas.
According to the staff, the Chinese male driver with glasses looks about 40 years old and drives a black Lexus sedan. According to the post, the incident occurred on the 21st September 2020, around 6 PM in the evening.
