Billionaire Elon Musk, who is set to buy social networking site Twitter for US$44 billion, arrived at Twitter’s headquarters yesterday (26 October) ahead of the 28 October deadline to close the deal.
He posted a video onto his Twitter account, showing himself carrying a huge porcelain sink into the building, and captioning it “let that sink in”.
He also changed his Twitter bio to read “Chief Twit”.
Musk will also be addressing Twitter staff at the headquarters building on Friday (San Francisco time), with Twitter’s current chief marketing officer and head of people Leslie Berland notifying employees of Musk’s plan to “meet with folks, walk the halls and dive in on the important work you all do.”
The billionaire has been given a deadline of until 28 October to seal the deal with Twitter, by the Delaware Court of Chancery.
