ENTRY TO MARKETS CONTROLLED, ONLY ALLOWED TO ENTER ON ALTERNATE DAYS

According to a press release, Minister Lawrence Wong explains the new rules that will be implemented

People movement in wet markets and supermarkets will also be controlled, this will be done so, by scanning NRIC for entry.

People will be assigned to different groups either on odd or even days.

Example

If a persons’ NRIC is scanned and belongs to the ‘odd day group’ when it is on an even day, the person will be denied entry.

This is to control crowding in market/Supermarkets to prevent further transmissions of the COVID-19.

The implementation will start in wet markets and eventually in Supermarkets.

He later said in Mandarin that, if you need to go buy groceries please go alone and not with the whole family.
